Discover 4 Recommended Nature Spots in Funabashi for a Perfect Stroll Date 🌿
目次
Funabashi City, Chiba Prefecture, offers many attractive sightseeing spots that combine nature and history. Why not leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind and find a place where you can refresh yourself while experiencing greenery and the water's edge? In this issue, we will introduce four recommended spots to visit in Funabashi under the motto of nature and travel. Enjoy a moment of healing at each of these spots.
Funabashi Daijingū Shrine

Funabashi Grand Shrine is a historic shrine known locally as OHIJINJA. The shrine dates back to the Heian period (794-1185) and has long been worshipped as a guardian deity of the sea. The shrine's spacious grounds are lined with trees, and the natural beauty of the four seasons heals visitors. Visitors can also experience traditional Japanese cultural experiences such as prayer and omikuji (fortune telling).
Recommendation: Experience a mysterious space where history and nature are woven together in a quiet forest.
Access: 3 min. walk from Ojingushita Sta. on the Keisei Main Line
Fee: Free of charge

Otaki Fudo-son Konzo-ji Temple

Kanakura-ji Temple is located on a green hillside and is said to be beneficial for driving away evil spirits and bringing good luck. Within the precincts of the temple, Gotaki Fudo is enshrined, and a garden with a beautiful cascading waterfall is calming and relaxing. Although the temple is located near the city, the chirping of birds and the murmuring of the river make it a relaxing spot.
Recommendation: A temple where you can enjoy a quiet moment while listening to the sound of waterfalls.
Access: 10-minute walk from Takifudo Station on the Shin Keisei Line
Admission: Free

Funabashi Andersen Park

This sprawling park is themed around the world of Danish fairy tale author Andersen. Seasonal flowers, athletic activities in nature, and an animal petting area are popular among families. The park's windmills and Scandinavian-style buildings are also recommended as photo spots. Just taking a leisurely stroll around the park is a relaxing experience.
Recommendation: Spacious park where you can enjoy the Scandinavian atmosphere and nature.
Access: 30 min. by bus bound for Andersen Park from the North Exit of JR Funabashi Station
Fee: Adults 900 yen

Ebigawa River Jogging Road

The Ebigawa Jogging Road is a walking path along the Ebigawa River that flows through Funabashi City. The 4.2-km-long course offers a different view each season, with beautifully colored cherry blossom trees in spring and golden silver grass swaying in the wind in autumn. The promenade along the river is ideal for jogging and walking, and is a popular spot for both local residents and tourists. While strolling along the path, you may also see wild birds and fish playing by the water, making it a place where you can feel the richness of nature.
Recommendation: Healing space along the river where you can enjoy the scenery of each season
Access: 15-minute walk from Funabashi Station
Admission: Free
