In recent years, Kuramae has become a trendy destination in Tokyo, often referred to as the "Brooklyn of Tokyo" thanks to its growing number of stylish cafés and bakeries. Among them are specialty shops offering delicious, freshly made donuts and muffins—ideal for strolling snacks or thoughtful souvenirs. Here are four must-visit spots for sweets lovers exploring Kuramae!
Pretty Good Coffee & Donut
Located in Yanagibashi, just a 5–6 minute walk from Kuramae or Asakusabashi Station, Pretty Good Coffee & Donut serves made-to-order donuts that are crispy outside and fluffy inside.

The shop offers a wide range of creative toppings, including bacon and eggs, fries, cream with homemade jam, and hot sauces made with chocolate or berries. The bacon and egg combo is especially popular for a hearty morning treat.
The café is spacious and comfortable, with sofa and table seating, free Wi-Fi, and a cozy atmosphere—great for relaxing or working. Open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with breakfast available from 9:00 to 11:00 and lunch until 2:30 PM (last order). Closed on Mondays, unless it's a national holiday.
Whether you're starting your day or stopping by for a sweet treat, this café offers a fresh and flavorful experience.

Donuts Mori Kuramae
Donut Mori Kuramae is located in Komagata 1-chome, Taito-ku, Tokyo, about a 3-minute walk from Kuramae Station Exit A5 on the Toei Oedo Line and about a 4-minute walk from Asakusa Station Exit A1.
This store opened in January 2024 as the second store of "Donut Mori", a popular donut specialty store in Kagurazaka.

Using a special method called “yudane” and low-temperature fermentation, their dough brings out the rich flavor of Hokkaido-grown wheat. The result: donuts with a fluffy, chewy texture that take three days to prepare.
Customer favorites include the Original Glaze made with organic Italian honey, the tangy Raspberry Glaze with French fruit preserves, and rich Chocolate Glaze using premium Belgian chocolate.
The shop’s cozy interior was inspired by old European hotels, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere. Open from 11:00 AM until sold out. No regular closing days—check their Instagram for updates during holidays.

chigaya Kuramae
Chigaya Kuramae is a bakery café located in a renovated building near Torigoe, about a 6-minute walk from Kuramae Station. Originally from the Shonan area, Chigaya is known for its freshly fried donuts.

The signature “cream donuts” feature airy, delicate dough filled with silky custard. The “lemon donuts,” with their refreshing citrus flavor, are also a hit.
Inside, the café offers a handmade feel with wooden furniture and a welcoming vibe. Choose from tables or counter seating. A variety of drinks—coffee, tea, cream sodas—are available. Open daily from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Daily's muffin Kuramae
Located in Kuramae 2-chome, Daily's Muffin Kuramae is the Tokyo branch of a well-known muffin shop originally from Sendai. Opened in 2014, this bakery specializes in large American-style muffins that are crispy outside and moist inside.

They offer both classic and seasonal flavors, with new varieties introduced weekly to keep things fresh for regulars.
Most visitors grab their muffins to go, but nearby Sumida River parks provide a scenic spot to enjoy your treat. The shop opens at 8:00 AM on weekdays and 11:00 AM on Saturdays. Closed on Sundays and Mondays.
If you're looking for a flavorful, handmade snack or gift, this is the perfect stop.
