There are many ways to enjoy autumn, from eating to reading, but this time we will focus on the fall season of the arts! In the cool and quiet atmosphere of the museum, you can enjoy viewing the exhibits alone or with a date.
1.Special Exhibition| Monet, Time of Water Lilies

The exhibition “Monet: A Time of Waterlilies” will be held at the National Museum of Western Art in Ueno from October 5, 2024.
Around 50 carefully selected works, including important works on display in Japan for the first time, will come to Japan from the Marmottan Monet Museum.
The exhibition focuses on the later years of Monet's life, when he painted Waterlilies, allowing visitors to see the changes in his brushwork, the way he painted water, and the way he perceived space.
As the viewer becomes immersed in the series of water lilies, the colors of the water surface and flowers, captured with a rigor that transcends impressionism and at times could be described as expressionism, will surely make the viewer lose track of time and become immersed in the work.
This rare opportunity to see the largest collection of water lilies ever assembled in Japan is a must-see.
Period: October 5, 2024 (Sat) - February 11, 2025 (Tue, national holiday)

2.Exhibition| Paris and La Belle Epoque

The exhibition “Belle Époque - The Beautiful Era: Artists Gathered in Paris, Focusing on the Wiseman & Michael Collection,” which will be held at the Panasonic Shiodome Museum of Art from October 5, 2024, will showcase a diverse range of art, craft, theater, and music from the glamorous era of Paris' prosperity (Belle Époque) through the 1930s. The exhibition features the works of Alphonse Alphonse, a well-known Japanese artist.
Visitors can experience the unique art and culture that colored this glamorous era, including works by Alphonse Mucha, who is well known in Japan, and the collection of paintings by David E. Weissman and Jacqueline E. Michael, who play a central role in the exhibition.
Also on display are clothes and accessories worn by bourgeois women of the time, as well as craft works by Galle and Lalique, making this exhibition a highlight of the Belle Époque from a variety of perspectives.
Period: October 5 (Sat) - December 15 (Sun), 2024

3.Exhibition| Canaletto and the Splendor of Venice

The “Canaletto and the Splendor of Venice” exhibition, to be held at the SOMPO Museum of Art in Shinjuku from October 12, 2024, is the first large-scale exhibition in Japan to introduce Canaletto, the 18th century Italian painter known as the master of landscape painting.
Canaletto's precise and magnificent brushwork gives the viewer a realistic feeling of visiting the World Heritage city of Venice.
In this exhibition, visitors can also see works by 19th century painters who continued the tradition and pioneered new images of Venice.
Why not visit this exhibition for a rare opportunity to feel how different painters depicted Venice and how it has changed over the years?
Period: October 12 (Sat) - December 28 (Sat), 2024

4.SIDE CORE Exhibition| Concrete Planet

For those who find art and painting a bit intimidating... or wish they could enjoy them more casually, we recommend the “SIDE CORE Exhibition| Concrete Planet” currently being held at the Watari-um Museum of Contemporary Art in Shibuya, Tokyo.
This is the first solo exhibition in Tokyo by “SIDE CORE,” an art team that develops art projects in public spaces and on the streets! This is a large-scale solo exhibition.
The exhibition is characterized by its unique focus on the public nature and institutions unique to the city, including the use of special methods to photograph familiar places such as highways, railroad tracks, and underground waterways, and incorporate them into works that evoke a sense of the extraordinary.
By coming into contact with art that is the product of unlimited imagination and creativity toward the city, it is likely to bring color to the scenery that we usually see without thinking about it.
Period: August 12 (Monday) - December 8 (Sunday), 2024
